6th Hole – Parker’s Pit

6th Hole – Parker’s Pit

HOLE 6

Parker’s Pit

Par 4

A good, straight drive is essential to clear the valley and avoid the trees on either side of the fairway. This will give the opportunity to reach the green in regulation. The large green slopes from right to left.

5th Hole – Le Roy des Trous

HOLE 5

Le Roy des Trous

Par 4/5

Stroke index 1 for the men and a par 5 for the ladies. The hole favours a long drive to the bottom of the hill. A blind, up hill second shot will need an extra club to reach the green.

3rd Hole – Willy’s Pitch

HOLE 3

Willy’s Pitch

Par 4

Although a short hole, the two tier green that slopes away from you presents the most testing approach shot. Genuine birdie opportunity.

2nd Hole – Men’s Dilemma

HOLE 2

Men’s Dilemma

Par 4

A straight drive avoiding ‘Hudson’s Tree’ on the right brings you to the left half of the fairway and opens up the approach to the green. Two good shots are required to reach the green in regulation.

18th Hole – Flat Earth

HOLE 18

Flat Earth

Par 4

A fine finishing hole with out-of-bounds all down the left and trees to the right. The drive requires pin-point accuracy and some courage! Even a good drive leaves a lengthy second to a sloping green and plenty of trouble for a slightly off-line approach.

15th Hole – Parry’s Par

HOLE 15

Parry’s Par

Par 5

A demanding par 5 which requires three good shots to reach the green. The fairway has right to left camber all the way to a large green which slopes from front to back and is guarded by a single bunker on the right.

12th Hole – The Long Haul

HOLE 12

The Long Haul

Par 4

A solid tee shot is essential to have any chance of reaching the green in two. A deep valley is in front of the green, out-of-bounds on the left and a bunker to the right of the green makes for a testing second shot.

9th Hole – Bishop’s Bunkers

HOLE 9

Bishop’s Bunkers

Par 3

Kingsthorpe’s answer to the ‘postage stamp’.

Don’t be fooled by the Stroke Index of this hole. The long two-tiered green is well protected by five bunkers, with one of those bunkers hidden at the back of the green just in front of the out-of-bounds. Depending on pin position and wind direction, this hole is anything from a pitching wedge to a 6-iron!

4th Hole – Panter’s Pines

HOLE 4

Panter’s Pines

Par 3

A fairly straightforward par three, but beware the hidden bunkers to the right of the green. A grassy dip runs in front of the green which can catch anything short, and anything left or right of the green will find trouble.

1st Hole – Walding’s Walk

HOLE 1

Walding’s Walk

Par 4

A tricky start to your round at Kingsthorpe, the first hole has out-of-bounds on the left-hand side, and willow trees down the right, so a good straight hit off the tee is essential to find the valley in front of the green leaving a partially blind uphill second shot to a large green shared with the 8th hole.
