Kingsthorpe's own Jack Walding ( a third generation member of the club) became the Northamptonshire Boys Champion 2010 at Northampton GC . Scoring rounds of 77 & 69 he beat the outstanding Harry Woan (English International team member ) of Overstone Park by 3 shots and also took the nett prize scoring 140.
Darren Jones last won the trophy for Kingsthorpe in 1985. Past champions include Tim Giles (now an Honorary Life Member of the club), Steve MacDonald won it twice in the 70's and Tour Pro Gary Boyd was the winner in 2003.
This was our second success of the season; Adam Bly having finished 2nd in the Higgs Bowl only on countback.
It was followed by Jake Croxford who secured 3rd place in the Nett Competition in the 2010 County Championship at Kettering.
