18 Hole Course - Turn for Home - Par 4
398 Yards S.I.5
Pro's Tip: An inviting drive over the valley calls for an accurate second into the corner, close to the boundary. No bunkers here unless you miss the fairway.
Another of sports journalist Steve Jackson's favourite holes. He said "It gets tighter the closer you get to the putting surface and if they put the pin at the back it’s a really hard hole. But with a tee shot over a valley and the green positioned in the far corner of the course in front of a bungalow, it’s a good looking hole."
Martin Izzard featured this hole in his book "Golf In Northamptonshire 1876-2008".
"The hole is played across the valley up and over a slight hill to along thin green which has an out of bounds hedge on either side. There is also a small dip in front of the green which makes the second shot difficult to judge. The green is also one of the most difficult to read on the course and is no more than 10 feet wide at it's furthest point. In days gone by one could see the 10th,11th and 12th holes on the old Kettering Road (Northampton Golf Club) from here.
