Welcome to Kingsthorpe Golf Club. Founded in 1908, the club moved to its current location in the heart of the town of Northampton in 1914. Kingsthorpe provides a challenging yet fair test of golf synonymous with the design skills associated with the legendary Harry Colt. Accuracy off the tee is paramount to afford the golfer the opportunity to hit the right part of the small undulating greens. Many birdie opportunities await if you can achieve this, whilst par becomes tough if off line or faced with downhill sloping putts.
One thing that we guarantee at Kingsthorpe is a warm welcome at Northampton's friendliest club. With our modern clubhouse and excellent catering, we guarantee a fantastic day's golf that will want you to return time and again in the future.
Visitors are welcome Monday - Friday only. We recommend calling the Pro Shop, 01604 719602, to check that the time you wish to play is available. Within reason, we will do our utmost to get you on the course when you want.
Kingsthorpe offers great value for money both on and off the course. Our golf prices are very competitively priced and, in the clubhouse we offer a full catering service with quality inexpensive food and very reasonable bar prices.
Kingsthorpe welcomes Golf Societies on Monday, Thursday and Friday. We guarantee an enjoyable day out with staff who will look after you from arrival early in the morning until you leave at the end of the evening having enjoyed the clubhouse hospitality we offer. Societies and Companies who visit us generally return, year after year. Click on Society Golf in the left hand column for full details of packages available.
The course itself is best described as a traditional "Parkland" course, built on around 73 acres, which must surely be amongst the smallest plots on which a proper 18 hole course has been built. The course yardage of only 5918yds from the back tees suggests a short course, but with a par of 69 and only one par 5, this yardage is a little misleading. The visitor tees are all within 10 yards of the competition tees barring two holes - the exception to the rule at many other courses. You really do get the opportunity to play Kingsthorpe as it was designed.
Whilst not a hilly course, the valley that runs through it ensures plenty of sloping lies. The undulating terrain provides a real but fair challenge for golfers of all standards. When you arrive at the famous Kingsthorpe greens - this is where the fun begins!! The members believe that this is the way golf should be played.
The Course Plan section gives a hole by hole description of the course.
